About us
Mission and vision
Our vision of the Center of Excellence as a scientific program is focused on creating new personnel and technological foundations for the further successful development of viral immunology and vaccinology in Croatia.
Innovative vaccines
We are focused on designing vaccines and vectors for the prevention and treatment of various infectious diseases.
Clinical translation
We are dedicated to the transfer of knowledge into clinical practice, including the development of new immunotherapeutic strategies.

Advances in viral immunology
Cytomegalovirus
Human cytomegalovirus is the main cause of congenital infections and mental retardation worldwide.
Mumps virus
Although almost eliminated from most developed countries, it has recently become an important public health problem again.
Hantavirus
Hantaviruses cause hemorrhagic fever and cardiopulmonary syndrome, both with a significant mortality rate.
Hepatitis C virus
About 3% of the world's population is infected with hepatitis C. Infection can result in cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.
Process optimization
We develop and optimize biotechnological production processes for the small-scale production of vaccine candidates.
