The Partnership Agreement between the partners of the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Viral Immunology and Vaccines defines in detail the roles and responsibilities of all project participants, the Centre’s management structure, methods of mutual communication, financial management, and public relations.
The coordinator of the activities of the Scientific Centre of Excellence, Academician Stipan Jonjić, will be the contact person for the contracting authority. He is responsible for strategic decisions, monitoring the compliance of project activities with the conditions set out in the contract and agreement, and organizing and coordinating human, material, and financial resources.
Dr. Halassy and Prof. Markotić will coordinate the activities carried out at their institutions and will periodically report to the coordination team on the progress of work and/or any problems. Prof. Brizić and Prof. Wensveen will coordinate activities related to experimental work on animal models, including participation in obtaining approvals from ethics committees. Prof. Krmpotić and Dr. Halassy will coordinate all activities related to the training of young researchers, workshops, and courses.
The Advisory Board consists of leading experts in the field who are interested in using the technologies developed by the members of this Centre of Excellence. These are Prof. Ulrich Kalinke, PhD (TWINCORE – Centre for Experimental and Clinical Infection Research, Hannover), Prof. Sabina Rabatić, PhD (Institute of Immunology, Zagreb), and Prof. Martin Messerle, PhD (Hannover Medical School). This Board has an advisory role and will advise the coordination team on matters related to scientific and educational activities.
The Centre’s administrative, financial, and legal team will oversee the project’s operational, budgetary, and regulatory matters. It will ensure efficient coordination, maintain timely communication with relevant professional services, and lead the preparation of periodic and final reports.
The team will also contribute to the organization of workshops and support the research group’s dissemination activities. This will include arranging travel and accommodation for conferences, researcher training and mobility, publication-related costs, and other related activities. In addition, it will assist researchers in preparing and submitting project proposals to secure further funding.
The administrative team consists of four members: Cristina Paulović, University Specialist in Economics; Antonija Šarlija, Master of Economics; Irena Čeple Nikolić, Bachelor of Economics; and Antonija Radić, University Master of Economics.
The coordinator will be assisted in the scientific, educational, and financial management of the project by Prof. Brizić, Prof. Lenac Roviš, and Cristina Paulović, University Specialist in Economics. Cristina Paulović is an expert in scientific project management who has already participated in the preparation, implementation, management, and/or reporting of more than 60 projects that were evaluated and/or funded by various national, EU, and international agencies and programmes financing scientific projects, including the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), the German Research Foundation (DFG), and the Croatian Science Foundation.
